Angel Fire (entrance is through the green gates on the left at the end of Westridge Rd.) \nWhat: Help get Camp Elliott Barker Girl scout Ranch ready for the summer camp season. \nWork will include (but not be limited to) \nBringing the wall tents out of storage and setting them up. \n Moving metal cot frames into the tents once they are ready. \n              Wiping down and placing mattresses into the tents for the cot frames \n              Cleaning in the dining hall \n              Hiking designated trails and clearing any fallen trees and limbs \nThis is a dirty day\, so please dress accordingly. Old clothes and work gloves recommended. \nAt noon\, lunch will be provided for all volunteers in our dining hall! Permits must be worn at all times. \nAdult poles can be rented for $30/day\, and children’s poles can be purchased for $17. Worms\, power bait\, lures\, and flies can also be purchased at the Boat House. \n\n\n\nAngel Fire Fishing Permit\nPrice (Daily)\n\n\n\n\nAdult\n(16 – 64)\n$40\n\n\nJunior\n(7 – 15)\n$30\n\n\nChild\n(6 & under)\n$15\n\n\nMilitary\n$30\n\n\nSenior\n(65+)\n$30\n\n\n\n\nPedal Boat Rentals\nChildren must be at least 4 years old and have the ability to swim in order to go out in a pedal boat. \nAll participants must wear a life vest. No fishing from a pedal boat. Please let the lake attendant assist you in and out of the boat.  \nStand-Up Paddle Board Rentals\n\nThe minimum age to use a paddle board is 12 years old.\nEach person on a paddle board must wear a life vest\, leash\, and whistle at all times on the water.\nAll participants must have strong swimming ability.\n\n\nOnly stand on the paddle board when it is in the water (standing on it on land can damage the fin)\nNo swimming in the lake. If you happen to fall into the lake\, you must immediately get back on your board.\nEntering and exiting the lake must be done in the designated area\, adjacent to Monte Verde Lake Office.\n\nBring Your Own Boat\nYou are welcome to bring your own non-motorized watercraft to Monte Verde Lake. We do not allow boats over 15 feet\, there is no charge for single-day use. \nIf you wish to store your boat\, a seasonal storage fee of $200 for Members only\, can be paid in Monte Verde Lake Office. \nHere are a few things to keep in mind: \n\nPlease be sure to check in with the Lake Attendant when you arrive and sign the liability waiver.\nWe have extra life vests if anyone in your group needs one – children under the age of 12 must wear a life vest while on the water.\nLife vests\, whistles\, and leashes are required for Stand-Up Paddle Boards – please bring your own life vest or borrow one from us.\nPlease take a whistle with you out on the water so that you can notify others in case of an emergency.\n\nSAFETY\, POLICIES\, AND PROCEDURES\n\nNo Alcohol – alcoholic beverages are not permitted at Monte Verde Lake.\nNo Swimming – swimming is not permitted in the lake and there is no lifeguard. The water is extremely cold.\nDogs – must be on a leash when on the shore but they are allowed to swim in the lake and ride on boats without being on a leash.\nNo Wake Lake – boats with motors and devices like jet skis are not allowed. Trolling motors are permitted.\nFires – charcoal grills and campfires are not permitted at Monte Verde Lake.\n\nWeather\nLightning is common in Angel Fire\, especially during monsoon season. \nIf you see lightning or hear thunder\, immediately return to the shore and seek shelter. \nWind can also create a hazard out on the lake and anything more than a breeze can make boating very difficult and even dangerous. \nIf the wind picks up please return to the shore. \n  \nContent and photos courtesy of the Angel Fire Resort

SUMMARY:Run For The Wall 2025
DESCRIPTION:Run for the Wall passes by Angel Fire at approximately 4:15-4:30pm yearly. Residents and guests of Angel Fire are asked to gather at the “blinking light” on Hwy 64 and Hwy 434 at approximately 4:30pm to cheer them on. The passing motorcade normally consists of 385 to 500 veteran motorcyclists. They meet at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial after the drive-by. \nRun for the Wall is an organized cross-country motorcycle ride to honor our veterans\, their families and friends and to raise awareness of those still missing- Prisoners of War ( POW) and Missing in Action (MIA). The ride or run as many motorcyclists call it\, starts in Ontario\, California and ends 10 days later at the Vietnam Veteran’s Wall in our nations capital\, Washington D.C. We then have a 3 day “run” from D.C. to the Middle East Conflicts Wall in Marseilles\, Il. Wall to Wall.
