First run by age division (youngest to oldest)\, second run first come first serve \nEligibility:  U8\, U10\, U12\, U14\, U16\, U19\, Masters Classes may be combined based on competitors. \nRegistration Fee: $40    ($35 if registering by Feb 11\, 2026) \nEvent Waiver must be completed as the last step of registration or you cannot participate in the event. \n\n\nLift Tickets:   Racers: $20 Child\, $69 Junior\, $89 Teen\, $99 Adult  ($99 Parent not racing-limit (2)) \nCoaches:  Free ticket per 8 registered racers with USSA Level 100-300 or PSIA Level 2 and above\, PSIA Level 1-50% with current card  $99 Coach without certifications. \nRegistration: \n\nOnline Registration:  teamangelfire.net\nRace day registration & check-in: 8:30am-9am Village Haus\nSame day registration: Cash\, check or online credit or debit card\nMake Checks payable to: Team Angel Fire\n\nPlease note Athlete’s name and birth date on check. \nSchedule:           \nRace Headquarters & Registration: Village Haus – Base Area \n\n\nRegistration & check-in: 8:30am-9am \nCoaches Meeting:  8am in the Village Haus \nLifts Open: 9:00 am \nRace Time: Inspection begins at 10:00am\, Race begins by 11:00am \nRace Sequence:  Runs back-to-back\, best of both times. \nBib return:  After second run return your bib at the finish line area. SUMMARY:Shovel Races
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Save the Date – We’re bringing back the Shovel Races! Race down the slopes on a snow shovel in this exhilarating competition that’s perfect for speedshovel enthusiasts of all ages. Here’s everything you need to know so far—more information to be determined. \n  \nRules: \n\nAll shovels must be “grain” shovels. Competitors may bring their own shovels\, or Angel Fire Resort will provide shovels from sponsors Alpine Lumber and Bluebird Mountain Sports.\nCompetitors must wear a helmet and eye protection for all practice and competition runs.\nNo physical alterations are allowed to the running surface of the grain scoops (shovels) other than the application of wax or a similar type substance to the underside or bottom of the scoop. You may adhere tape or other similar materials to the handle of the shovel to make it easier to grip. You may paint the seat of the grain scoop\, but no traction-aiding substance is allowed.\nBarging the start gate constitutes a false start. First false start in a heat is a warning; second false start in a heat is a disqualification.\nIf a racer is not sitting on their shovel upon crossing the finish line\, that racer will receive a DNF (did not finish) for that run. Should a racer come off their shovel during a “Time Trial” or Little Scoops run\, they will receive a DNF for that run and will be required to immediately move laterally off the course. Should a racer come off of their shovel during a “Heat” run\, the racer can get back on their shovel and legally cross over the finish line to finish the heat.\nNo protests\nDuring Finals\, that run counts; we will not accept the qualifying time if that run is faster.\nYou must make a concerted effort to self-arrest after crossing the finish line\, or you will get a DQ\n\n  \nPhoto and content courtesy of the Angel Fire Resort\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
