National Trails Day Hikes
June 6 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

National Trails Day Saturday
6th June 2026
 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
The Village of Angel Fire’s Recreation and Pedestrian Trails Committee in partnership with the Moreno Valley Trekkers will host this National Trails Day event.
There will be 3 led hikes in Angel Fire on National Trails Day.
An Easy hike (wildflower/bird/beaver dam analogue hike along Frank Young to Solar Loop),
a Moderate hike (Bobcat to Bear to Coyote to Deer)
and a
Challenging hike (Bobcat to Oesta Vista).
The Moreno Valley Trekkers will have a booth/table set up in Frontier Park for distributing maps, water bottles, small give-aways and
information about where these Trekker-led hikes begin and timing.
Our booth will be set up by 6:30 am, but hikes won’t start until we have enough attendees to hike (typically minimum of 4).
So expect that the hikes will start sometime after 9:00 am (e.g. 9:15 – 9:30 am).
The Village of Angel Fire, Recreation and Pedestrian Trails Committee and the Moreno Valley Trekkers
plan to join American Hiking Society and outdoor enthusiasts nationwide in celebrating this annual day of action.
Together, we’ll promote leave the trails and outdoor spaces better than we found them,
fostering a world where everyone feels welcome and has access to the outdoors.
Working together we would like to create a trail community that is accessible for all, advocate for public spaces, and care for the trails we all cherish.
